Professional

In a career spanning over twelve years in transportation engineering, as a chartered and professional registered civil engineer, I have managed many major multidisciplinary transportation engineering projects, ranging from developing concept plan to execution. My expertise also includes project planning and cost control; management of personnel; public–private partnership (PPP) projects and health and safety coordination. In addition to all stages of projects execution- from outline concepts, surveys, assessments and presentations, through manual or computer aided detail design, to contract documentation and construction management. My strongest expertise is transportation structures, e.g. bridges, railways, viaducts and flyovers.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Doctoral PhD Researcher, Newcastle University, 2007-2010: Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) sponsored doctoral research at School of Marine Science and Technology, Newcastle University Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Research area was in marine engineering science and technology: ‘GIS-Based Prediction of Marine Transportation Infrastructures (Pipelines) Damages Using Hybrid Multivariate Statistical Analysis’.

Project Engineer, Siraj Consulting Engineers-1999-2005. My responsibility includes the design of surveys, collection, processing, and analysis of data, and interpretation of results. In general, the projects typically involve engineering design of plans, profiles, and all transportation related structural details, e.g. flyover, bridges and viaducts. I supervised the environmental impact assessment, feasibility and economic viability studies, in addition to economic route analysis, aerial survey, soil investigations, and preparation of BOQ and tender documents:

Project Manager, Zephyrgold International Ltd.: 2005-present: I am responsible for the preparation of yearly budget plans, project research for proposals and supervision of civil/structural engineers. Additional duties also include coordination and vetting of design of various transportation projects, appraisal of bills of quantities. Responsibilities also include, matching progress with programmes of work, and preparation of briefs for client nationwide.
